Hotels & accommodation (4/10):If you looking for something reasonable priced you'll have to settel for a hostel with shared bathrooms. Everything in Oslo is so expensive and a decent Hotelroom will set you back $200-300 a night.
Places to eat (3/10): Seems like 7-elleven, Burgerking and McDonalds are what norwegians love. On every corner youll find them. I was trying to find some traditional local food in Oslo, but they just don't serve it. Expensive. Disappointing.
Beach (N/A):I didnt look for one
Shopping (4/10):I've visited all the scandinavian capitals, and rate Oslo lowest on shopping. The selection of boutiques is much better in Stockholm and Copenhagen, and Oslo is also (suprise) the most expensive of the three.
Local culture & people (3/10):As i said earlier I can't find much norwegian culture in Oslo. It seems very americanized with all the McD, 7/11, BurgerK, and so on. The people in Oslo don't seem very happy, not many smiles to see. The main street in Oslo is filled up with junkies and prostitutes. Didnt expect that from a wealthy scandinavian city.
Activities & Attractions (4/10):The Holmenkolle ski jumping hill is a nice monument above Oslo. Great View, worth the trip I'd say. The Munch Museum (Munch-the man who paintet the Scream) had a nice collection of his work. My favorite spot in Oslo must be The Frogner Park with a great collection of sculptures by the artist Vigeland- its even free to visit. Oslo itself isnt much to look at, a rather grey and ugly city.
Nightlife (5/10):A pint of beer is like $12, so bring lots of money. Aside from the expensive liqueur, the nightlife is pretty good, with many pubs and nightclubs along the main street.
Summary:I didnt like Oslo. Not much to see and very expensive. One good thing; very pretty girls.
