Hotels & accommodation (4/10):In peak season finding somewere to stay can be hard, theres a lot of hotels in Venice, but theres ALOT of tourist to. The hotels in Venice are much more expensive than the rest of Italy. Book in advance is my advice.
Places to eat (7/10): Nothing is as tasty as Italian food, and in Venice youll find a lot of it. Many resturants, many good resturands. Excellent food, but again resturants in Venice is expensive compared to rest of Italy.
Beach (N/A):I'm sure there are some good beaches around Venice, but the city has so much to offer that I didnt look for the beach.
Shopping (6/10):Fancy Italian clothing good wines and food. Shoping in Venice cant compete with Rome or Milano, but still you'll have no problem spending your hard earned cash.
Local culture & people (9/10):I guess with so many visitors the local people are a bit tired of tourist and dont interact that much with visitors. The locals i did meet where friendly however. As for the culture...this is the haven for European culture. One of the most important european cities throughout the last 1000 year, with all it beautiful buildings, art, food, museums; amazing.
Activities & Attractions (10/10):The whole city is one big attraction itself. The narrow streets, the middle age buildings, the chapels, the art from the great maestros, the gondoles on the channels..the list goes on.
Nightlife (6/10):Stylish, quite expensive.
Summary:Every one has to visit Venice before they die!
