Hotels & accommodation (9/10):If youre looking for real luxury go for Burj Al Arab :) If your wallet aint thick enough for the Burj, youll find many other really nice hotels at a much lower price. There is no problem finding hotels at $30 if you are on a budget, but most hotels are in the 4-5 star catagory. Btw luxury is pretty cheap in Dubai.
Places to eat (10/10): Middle East cuisine, Thai, Italian, French, McDonalds, KFC or expensive fine dining. Dubai has it all. Everywhere seems to be very clean and quality of food is excellent.
Beach (8/10):Jumeirah Beach is the beach in Dubai. A very nice beach, just next to the Burj Al Arab. The sand is white and fine, theres a few palm threes, the sea is warm, and everything is clean. Children friendly.
Shopping 10/10):A shopping paradise. Because of low import duties and no taxation, you can make some real bargains. All major brand can be found, usually for a great price. Gold is very cheap. Big Malls or local Bazaars, its up to you. Maybe the best city for shopping in the world?
Local culture & people (9/10): Every one is very polite. I have visited a few countries in the region, and usually sellers can be a bit pushy, but not in Dubai. As for the cultur, you will find both traditional arab cultur, but you will also find a cultur unique for Dubai. East meets west, old meets new, traditional meets modern, poor meets rich. Its a real melting pot.
Activities & Attractions (10/10):There is so much to see and do in Dubai. A huge waterpark, an indoor ski resort (!), desert safaries, Burj Al Arab, The Grand Mosque, Dubai zoo, the list goes on..The kids will love a holiday on Dubai.
Nightlife (8/10):You wouldnt expect to much of the nightlife in a muslim country, but Dubai has a lot of really cool bars and nightclubs. Its not wild like Ibiza, but for a grown up crowd, the nighlife is actually very good.
Summary:Overall I'll give Dubai 10/10. So much to see and do, amazing shopping, good climate. Dubai is a perfect holiday destination!.
