Hotels & accommodation (8/10):There shouldnt be any problem finding hotels in Marmaris, as 90 % of the buildings in this town are hotels. I stayed at the Ideal Pearl Hotell. It had very nice rooms, a big pool and friendly staff.

Places to eat (6/10): Lots of restaurants serving everything from traditional Turkish food, to international dishes. Food is good and fairly cheap, but both my daughter and wife got sick from the food they ate, so be careful.

Beach (4/10):The beach in Marmaris is not very big, so it gets very crowded. The beach is mostly stones and gravel and is not very pretty. On the plus side, theres a lot of water activities and restaurants along the beach.

Shopping 5/10):Its pretty cheap if your good at barganin. They shop keepers can be a bit pushy. Dont ask about price if youre not planning to buy. Leather and carpets are good value.

Local culture & people (5/10): I don't think theres a lot of real turkish culture left in Marmaris. Its all about tourism, hotels, bars and disco's. Turkish people are friendly, sometimes maybe a bit to friendly.

Activities & Attractions (3/10):Pamukkale (the wite limestone hot springs) isnt far from Marmaris. Well worth visiting. Beach activities, diving. Over all a bit dissapointing in regards to things to see and do in Marmaris.

Nightlife (7/10):Its pretty young and wild. Hundreds of bars. If you are in the right age group you will love the night life in Marmaris. If you are planning to sleep at night, I'll reccommend getting a hotel outside of the town center, cause the pubs can get loud at night.

Summary:I don't think Marmaris has to much to offer as a holiday destination. The beach isnt very good, and there isnt an awful lot of things to see and do. I most also mention that it can get terrible hot in the summer, so I will advice you not to visit in June-August.
