Hotels & accommodation (6/10):There is no shortage of accomodation in Sihanoukville. Everything from cheap guesthouses ($2 and up) and up to the top class 5-star Sokha Beach Resort. The number of hotels and guesthouse seems to outnumber the number og visitors, still Shianoukville seems to be a litte pricier than the rest of cambodia.
Places to eat (2/10): You can find some ok local food, nothing very special. Western food is hard to find, and if you do find it, it wont taste good. Sihanoukville is no gourmet city!
Beach (7/10):There are four nice uncrowded beaches surrounding the town; Sokha Beach, Ochheuteal Beach, Independence Beach and Victory Beach. All beaches are clean, with fine white sand. Some of the beaches can offer watersports, mostly the beaches are calm, and perfect for relaxation.
Shopping (2/10):ehmmm...can't really remember anywhere to the shopping. I did by a box of local cigarettes, $2 for 10 packages, at at the local supermarket. So Ill give shopping 2 points for the worlds cheapest cigarettes.
Local culture & people (4/10): As for local culture, theres not much. Sihanoukville is a holiday resort, a couple of streets with a lot of hotels and guesthouses. The local people, however, are very friendly, like all over Cambodia.
Activities & Attractions (3/10):Mostly hanging round at the beach- doing beach stuff. Renting a motorbike (cheap!) and visiting the countryside and villages around Sihanoukville is a day well spent.
Nightlife (2/10):Karaoke! Thats what its all about. Cheap drinking.
Summary:If youre looking for good beaches in Cambodia, Sihanoukville is the place to go. Other than the beaches, Shianoukville don't have much to offer.
